At The Retreat, we offer a combination of group and individual therapies. Residents at The Retreat will typically participate in 34 hours a week of group therapy and six to eight hours per week of individualized therapy. On admission, each person in our care is assigned an individual treatment team that is headed by a doctor who serves as the individual’s primary therapist, and also prescribes/manages medications as needed. While in our care, individuals meet with their doctor three times weekly for psychotherapy-based appointments typically lasting one hour. The other members of the individual treatment team include our nurses, social workers, family therapists, art therapists, wellness coordinator, and our movement and meditation specialist, among others. Approximately one-third of our groups are led or co-led by one of our psychiatrists. The daily programming begins at 8:30 a.m. and may go as late as 9 p.m.
Please see our program schedule for more detailed information about our daily schedule.
